So much has changed and it was definitely not easy as it was an unfamiliar path but it taught me lessons in life which definitely made me stronger emotionally and mentally. If I were to exactly describe my life the best term as of recent date would be 'adjusting' despite being in the U.S for almost four months. To be quite honest I had a fair share of frustration and impatience but slowly I'm going to the phase wherein I'm becoming more accustomed to the culture and life there is in here.
On a lighter note, I'll make a quick recap of how my life has been in the past months. Don't worry I'll be publishing detailed entries these coming days so please do watch out.
1. Silas' Christening, the last family/clan gathering I had and party I organised in the Philippines before I leave for the U.S.
2. First snow experience as I arrive in the U.S. It was quite funny on how I acted like a little kid overjoyed with a sight of falling snow. (I'm from a tropical country so please bear with me)
3. Despite the cold, chilly weather I wandered around Washington DC to visit some museums and historical locations.
4. Wonderful sight of seeing flowers bloom as the season started to shift to Spring.
5. Whenever I have time I always make a point of visiting museums in the DMV (District of Columbia, Maryland and Virginia) area. I have been into seven museums/gallery which I already plan to revisit this summer.
6. I got to visit the National Gallery of Art last Friday and I have to say it is by far the best that I have ever seen.
To my blogosphere friends, how are you all doing? I wish you guys are still around and to my new readers welcome to Eccentric Earthling.
Note: Every time I make a blogging comeback I make sure I give my blog a makeover so I organized and deleted every irrelevant post. Anyway, I want to thank Eve of Fearne Creative Design for the wonderful blog theme (I hope you don't mind I tweaked some part to give off my personal style).
Hi & welcome back!!! I was born in the States and lived there for 10 years before moving away to live abroad for 8 years only to return again for college, which I've been at for 2 years now, and sometimes even I feel like I'm still trying to acquaint myself with college and the States :P I was also totally in awe of snow when I experienced it on the east coast, so fluffy and abundant and beautiful! Nothing like the grey slush I'm used to ;P -Audrey | Brunch at Audrey's
ReplyDeleteThank you so much, Audrey! I'm amazed how you handled it - the sudden shift of culture and people. I do hope these coming months I'll be able to really settle in (enjoy the whole adjustment process). I haven't even made friends here so I feeling quite sad and lonely.
DeleteI honestly cannot believe it's been six months since your last post! Wow. Although I did kind of expected it since you're making such a huge move. I can't wait to read more detailed entries about the past couple of months of your life. I really, really, really love your new theme as well! It's familiar to how I would like mine to look at but I can't find the perfect theme yet. Welcome back to blogging, Tricia!

Time does really fly fast, I can't even believe it myself. It's crazy actually I'm still getting used to the culture and people there is here. Thank you! I'll keep you posted whenever I have new entries.
DeleteBelieve it or not, it took me a while to pick a new theme as I was quite picky when it comes to visual presentation.
Welcome back, hoping to see more content from you x

Thank you! Your blog looks wonderful and I miss reading 'em. I promised myself that I would blog right after I arrive here but no. I was really into completing my papers and as well as exploring the area.
DeleteYay! Welcome back hon :)
ReplyDeleteVery excited about what blogging is going to bring to you next and well done with the new layout. It looks great! I could relate like no one else about adjusting to a new country. While when I was in the States I settled in very quickly, it's a different story now when I moved to the UK. No idea why, maybe because I am older and overthinking everything :)
I hope you will feel more and more comfortable in the US with each coming day. Thank you for getting in touch & letting me know your blog is up and running again. If you have any questions, shoot me a DM any time.

Thank you, Nadia! Me too! I'm excited to share how my life has going on lately. I also hope this open up to many opportunities. Ohmygosh! It took me a week to really pick for the perfect layout. We're the same actually, I'm quite an overthinker that sometimes it does no good at all.
DeleteI hope so! Your welcome :)
Welcome back to blogging! And also welcome to the US. :D It's definitely different from the Philippines. I moved here almost ten years ago, but I still consider the Philippines my home. :)
ReplyDeleteThank you, Raisa! Philippines will always be home. If there's something I noticed people here in the US are straightforward and somehow liberated. I also noticed how fast-paced life is here. Is it normal that it's taking me a while to adjust? (I'm sorry if I'm asking you such question)
DeleteNice to see you blogging! :) Enjoy your new life there in the US of A. I envy you actually cos it's so hot here but for sure you'll miss the sun. lol. Anyway, Looking forward to your future blog posts!

Thanks Alissa! The weather here is quite bipolar there are times that it rains extremely hard and some other days it is as hot as the summer months of Manila. Yes! I have most of the post drafted already.
DeleteWelcome back! Blog on!
